With the summer just about here, it’s the perfect time to reflect and refocus on your goals. At the beginning of almost every season, I like to sit down and set up a Vision Board and create a list of goals for that season. This summer I really want to focus on eating better, so my board is going to be full of fresh produce and smoothies. Some of you might be asking, what is a vision board? A vision board is a device used by people from all walks of life, from fashion designers to college students. To put it simply, it’s a board with inspiring images or words on it. A vision board is something that helps motivate you to be the very best you can be, at what you want. It can be virtual, (hello, Pinterest)! However, it doesn’t have to be virtual, as it can also be something physical like a sheet of paper. I personally am a paper kind of girl. However, I do print plenty of Pinterest photos for my board.
How do you make a vision board? There is no correct answer. You can do it anyway you want to. I spend a lot of the time going through magazines and ripping/cutting out inspiring images and setting them aside. I sometimes use construction paper, sketchbook paper and sometimes even plain old computer paper for my boards. I cut out my images and arrange them on the paper, then I glue or tape them down. Voila, it’s done!! It’s such an easy and simple craft, a perfect activity to do with your children or even a group of friends.
What do you do with it once it’s done? Hang it up! It’s super important to place your vision board, somewhere that you can see it each and every morning when you wake up as a reminder to live your best life. I am deeply considering putting it right next to my vanity table. Personally, I think that everyone needs a little inspiration, which is why they are such a great tool to have in your repertoire.
Have any of you made a vision board? If so, where did you hang it?
